In Hot Wheels Unleashed we take part in crazy races of the title cars. The available models include fast and agile supercars, muscle cars, heavy and quite slow off-roaders or other vehicles, such as a tractor or a tanker. The competition takes place on a variety of tracks, winding not only horizontally, but also vertically, full of all kinds of jumps, loops and accelerators. The driving model focuses on bravado, taking turns in spectacular skidding and effective, but risky behavior at the same time. An extensive editor has been implemented in the game that allows you to create your own routes. We can share the tracks designed in it with the community.

The main "hero" of Hot Wheels Unleashed is the City Rumble mode. We are thrown on a Mario-style map, where we move around the board, unlocking the next levels. The levels here are, of course, races that are divided into classic AI battles, time trials, boss fights and secret levels. Each completed activity guarantees us various currencies and items that can be used to decorate the basement - our hideout, where we store our car collection. The collection is undoubtedly one of the key elements of this game. Just like in childhood, we collected small cars and put them proudly on the shelves in our room, here we also get the opportunity to collect several dozen different, colorful vehicles. Each has its own rarity level and is rated based on four statistics - speed, braking force, acceleration and handling.
Gameplay
Although the driving pattern and the tracks work very well together, this is still one of my main complaints about this game. I wish the maps were a little more unpredictable, crazier. During City Rumble we face bosses several times. The tracks are then much longer and full of various types of traps. Already in the first race, we must learn to precisely maneuver the car in the air and avoid very cleverly placed obstacles. The routes between the bosses are rather simple, they are mainly based on turns and straight lines, and can be a bit boring at times.
